| Minutes of Meeting | Rtn. Madhav Soman performed a different type of kirtan. He was supported on Tabla by Mr. Upendra Shitut and orator Shri. Viraj Koparkar. He performed kirtan in two parts namely Purvarang and Uttarrang. There are many types of kirtan in Maharashtra such as Naradiya and Varkari kirtan. The unbroken tradition of 'Sant Namdev' and 'Sant Tukaram' has been going on for a long time. He told the importance of Tukaram Abhang Gathas. Explained why to start with 'Om' and 'Ath'. Also said in precise words what is true altruism. No matter how much charity is done, it is less. Srinivasa Nayak from Vijayanagara in Karnataka gives a glimpse of how 'Sant Purandar Das' came to be and how great his work was. As the kirtana always ends with Ganapati Aarti, everyone performed Aarti and sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
